News From CPCHello CPC families!
CONGRATULATIONS again to our Class of 2024 cadets who completed their USAFA journey on 30 May 2024! -- As we said farewell to our Class of 2024 graduates, we welcomed our new Class of 2028 Appointees at the New Appointee Luncheon held on 8 June 2024 at Top Golf. Special thanks to Helly Duncan and all of the other volunteers for putting together a very fun and informative event! The Appointees and their families heard from speakers including USAFA Parent Liaison, Carrie Clancy. They even had a chance to meet with members of the Falconry team. In addition, a panel of cadets answered questions from the Appointees and parents. Then, the Appointees and members of the cadet panel golfed while their parents were presented with additional information. We will have photos in the next newsletter to share! -- Our warm Colorado welcome to the ENTIRE class of 2028 will continue at the I-day picnic on 26 June 2024. We will be hosting our traditional picnic at a new location this year: Arnold Hall! Our partnership with USAFA has allowed this program to continue to grow and provides all families with an opportunity to experience the hospitality of our amazing Colorado families. Families will have the opportunity to write their "First Letter" to their basic cadet. Members of the Falconry team will be present, and our CPC photographers will be capturing photos of families writing letters and visiting the photo booth. A special thanks to Carrie Clancy (former CPC Co-President), Mike Petersen & USAFA CQ for all that they have done to move our location to Arnold Hall due to the construction at AOG. Thank you to everyone that has already volunteered for our Signature Event. However, we still have volunteer slots available. We especially need grillers for the second shift (10 am to 2:30 pm). Please check out the signup. We would like to extend our welcome to the Class of 2028! We hope that you will consider joining our Colorado Parents' Club. As CPC members, you'll always be informed of the latest news from USAFA and will receive our monthly newsletter. You can find membership information here. Enjoy your summer and please be sure to send us any photos of your cadets in action during their summer activities! We would love to highlight their achievements in our newsletter!
