Funds used were from our Rando account held specifically for this purpose. There is an outstanding check for money from that account. It’s balance will soon be $2,970.26.

Discussion ensued concerning general CPC income. Primary source is now the three or four “Goodie Drops” each year.

Announcements

The Winter Party/Falconry Tour is scheduled for March 5. CPC will meet at the Chapel steps at 10:45; eat lunch at Mitchell Hall; and receive a tour or briefing of Academy Falconry depending on weather.

The annual Dinner is scheduled for April 24 in the stadium press box. It will be from 3:00 to 6:00 Sunday afternoon with General Rosa speaking. CPC will honor approximately 50 Colorado Firsties. Underclass cadets and their families have also enjoyed the event. Dress is casual.

The All Service Academy Ball is a formal dinner dance for Colorado cadets who attend any of the five United States Service Academies. This formal affair is also intended for dates, family, and friends of the cadets. CPC has the lead for the 2005 ball. Please join in planning this year’s event. Contact Dennis & Sue Sumner 970-221-6718/ 970-223-6081; Current preliminary projection is for the ball to be held December 28 at the Broadmoor. One of the fund raisers for this event is to sell Old Chicago Pizza Pals. Good deal; Contact Clay Hodge and buy some for your cadet.

New Business

1. Chairmanship positions & volunteer workers:
There were sign up sheets available at the meeting and attendees enthusiastically volunteered.

a. Orientation: CPC used to present itself at nominee orientations, but that venue may not be available in the future. Recommendations included plans to hold orientations for new parents in various locations throughout the state. Also, Parent to Parent calls have been effective.
b. Field Day
c. Goodie Bags
d. Giant Tailgate
e. Winter Party
f. Annual Dinner

2. Nominations and election of new officers. Clay Hodge had a listing of volunteers for the various offices. She recommended two people be elected to each position. Stephen Long moved and Bill Schlittler seconded that CPC accept new officers as read. Motion carried unanimously.

a. Presidents: Jim and Karen DuVall
b. Vice Presidents: Charlie and Roberta Richardson; Cheryl Schlittler in training
c. 2nd Vice Presidents: Kathy Zaccagnini and Monica Valdez
d. Treasurer in training: Debra Pelkowski
e. Secretary: Dan and Diana Cecil

Several topics were introduced. We will need a contact person for the Parent’s guide to oversee updates and sales. Do we want to continue the newsletter or has the web site taken over that function? The location for tailgates is already set. Once a member of CPC, always a member so parents of former cadets who are now officers are always welcome at CPC functions. New officers will soon meet with retiring officers. Formal announcement will be made at the next meeting which will be during the Annual Dinner, 24 April.

Peggy Marasovich move, Karen DuVall second. Adjourn. Motion carried.
